Statutory minimum voltage will be achieved across the state in six months as part of improving power supply, Power Minister A.K.Balan said. He was inaugurating a seminar on power sector reforms organised in connection with the 24th state conference of the KSEB Workers’ Association(KSEBWA) at Thiruvananthapuram. Kollam constituency had become the first to achieve statutory voltage in the country, the Minister said.Balan said that the state was going through a power crisis. Effective power conservation measures can help overcome it. Further, the government plans to distribute 1.5 crore more CFLs in the state which will help bring down power consumption. Transmission loss is down to 18 percent. The targeted level of transmission loss is 15 percent, he said.
