1.The expression 'High Tension Consumer' (HT) means . a consumer who is supplied with electrical energy at a voltage of either 22,000 Volts or 1l,000 Volts under normal conditions, the voltages, however, being subject to allowable percentage variation indicated in the respective agreements with the Board for allowed under Indian Electricity Rules 1956.
2 Billing demand for a month shall be the recorded Maximum Demand for the month or 75 % of the contract demand or 50 KVA whichever is higher. In case where the power factor for the month is not known, the conversion from KVA to K.W or vice versa will be based on an average assumed power factor of 0.85. When the actual maximum demand in a month exceeds the contract demand (as per agreement) the excess demand shall be charged at a rate of 150% of the demand charges applicable. 3. All the HT and deemed HT consumers (except Cinema theatres, "drinking water supply pumping stations of Kerala Water Authority, Corporations, Municipalities and Panchayats) will be billed on differential pricing system with the aid of Time Of Day (TOD) meter. The formula applicable for differential pricing system will be die same as given in
Annexure.
(ii) All the existing HT/deemed HT consumers shall purchase and install Time -Of-Day (TOD) meters and CT/PT at their cost failing which they will be charged 25% extra over the tariff. (iii) All new connections to HT applicants and/or connections of additional load to the existing HT consumers will be provided only after they purchase and install TOD meters and CT/PT at their cost, (iv) The maintenance and replacement of the defective meters shall also be done by them at their cost. They shall also do the maintenance and replacement of defective CT/PT and all other equipments owned by them at their cost. If they fail to do so, they will be charged 50 % extra over the rates notified in this order both for demand and energy. There are Five different Categories
