The Kerala State Electricity Board Officers' Association - the premier one of its kind in Power Sector - is affiliated to various National level bodies in Power Sector. It was formed in 1990 and has multifaceted activities. Extensive promotional functions primarily focussed on the progress of the nation and the industry through rapid development of Power sector and the welfare of its members are the core objectives of the Association. 14th STATE CONFERENCE AT KALPETTA By KSEBOA

14th State Conference of KSEB Officers' Association was conducted at LalithMahal Auditorium, Kalpetta on 2007 May 11 and 12 . Sr. B Pradeep was elected as the General Secretary and Sri. K Asokan was elected as the president. 29 office bearers were also elected. A womens' conference was conducted on 11-05-2007 at 11AM. All India Democratic Womens' Association State Secretary Smt. KK Shylaja Teacher, MLA inaugurated the womens' conference. Smt. PK sainaba, womens' commission member addressed the conference. Delegates Session on 12-05-2007 was inaugurated by Sri. AK Balan (Minister for Electricity, Govt. of Kerala). 445 delegates from different parts of the state attended the session.
A seminar on 'State Central Relatiions and Power Sector' was conducted at 2PM on 11-05-2007. Sri.Prabhat Patnaik inaugurated the seminar. Sri. E. The performance ratings of state power sector valued and prepared by Icra& Crisil was announced recently with unprecedented tom-toming. A function was also organized by Ministry of power at Imperial Hotel, Delhi to honor and to distribute prizes to the 1st ,2nd and 3rd rank holders by not less than the Hon. Power Minister Sri.Susil Kumar Shinde. Among other things he proclaimed in the function that the rank holders will be prized with cores of rupees in future. This ranking will be the basis of future fiscal allocations including budgetary support and incentive from APDRP.

Resolution adopted on Mega and Ultra Mega Power policies By Electricity Employees Federation of India

 Those thermal stations which are of and above 1000 MW capacity and hydel stations of and above 500 MW capacities are designated as Mega power projects (MPPs) by MOP and the following concessions are offered to the projects among other things: · No customs duty for imports · Government of India will direct the state governments to exempt the projects from local taxes and duties · No income tax for ten years preferred by developer with in 15 years after commissioning of the projects.
