About Us

The Kerala State Electricity Board Officers' Association - the premier one of its kind in Power Sector - is affiliated to various National level bodies in Power Sector. It was formed in 1990 and has multifaceted activities.

Extensive promotional functions primarily focussed on the progress of the nation and the industry through rapid development of Power sector and the welfare of its members are the core objectives of the Association.

C-CAPSS (Centre for Computer Aided Power Sector Studies), one of the major subsidiaries of the Association, conducts regular research and studies on various areas of the Power Sector. It is a recognised training institute in Kerala for the Computer Education for the officers of the KSE Board.

KSEB Officers Association (KSEBOA) enjoys the support and membership of more than 50 percent of Officers and Engineers of Kerala State Electricity Board. The association was formed in March 1990 for

1. Protecting the interest of the country
2. Protecting the interests of power industry
3. Protecting the interests of the employees of KSEB

Joining KSEBOA not only frees you from hacking net of category organizations but also puts you ahead in social and career aspects. Career development programmes conducted by KSEBOA is considered to be the best in the industry. These programmes covers various categories like projects, finance, management, power equipments maintenance, instrumentation, legal matters , visiting project areas etc.

Programmes

KSEBOA never stayed away from consumers and was a leader in conducting public awareness programmes throughout the state. Several 'Kala-Jathas' were conducted from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram for making the public aware of policy issues related to power sector like Electricity Bill-2001. At each reception points officers turned artists performed various piece of arts to visualize the problems of Electricity Bill-2001. 'Nattukkoottam' ( An interactive session with gathering) was arranged in which microphones were handed over to the gathering and they were allowed to ask any question related to electricity and power sector.

"Mughamugham" (Face to face) and Adalats were also conducted throughout the state with the co-operation of various cultural organizations , reading rooms and library organizations etc.. In such interactive sessions, local power problems come to fore which is dealt by local KSEB officers present there. All the policy issue of power, both connected with centre and state Governments , come as topics in these collective discussions. Public and non government organizations make use of these opportunity to redress their grievances related with the Electricity Board and to get reliable information regarding policy issues of power, from the people who are well conversant with it.

Power Quiz- an yearly quiz contest among college and poly technic students of the state is the biggest quiz competition among students in terms of prizes and participation. More than Rs. 100,000 worth cash prize is being offered in this quiz competition.
